SOCIAL AND PERSONAL. Miss D. Phair, Wanganui, left on Saturday for a three weeks’ holiday in Hastings. Mrs A. F. Nicholson, Cumbrae Place, Aramoho, left for Auckland at the week-end and will visit her daughter, Mrs A. Lambert at Matapouri Beach. Miss J. H. Wilson, of the teaching staff of the Wanganui Girls’ College, has left for Wellington. Mrs W. M. Gillies, Auckland, is spending the holidays in Wanganui and is staying with her sister, Miss D. Bruce, Glasgow Street. ENGAGEMENT HUGHES—GRANT,—Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Grant, the “Grange,” Waverley, have much pleasure in announcing the engagement of their elder daughter Margaret Elizabeth, to Julian (Puck) only son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. Hughes, Kohi, Waverley.
