NEW YORK, Dec. 24 (Recd. 6 p.m.) —Ten elderly inmates, most of them helpless invalids, were burned to death yesterday in a fire which destroyed a convalescent home near Amarillo, Texas. There were 45 patients in the home, but 35 got nut safely, although some suffered burns.
