AT LEAST ONE PERSON BEHIND IRON CURTAIN WORKING FOR PEACE
WASHINGTON, Dec 25 (recd. 11 p.m.).—The assistant Secretary of State, Mr Edward Barrett, said in a television programme last night, that a “certain individual” behind the iron curtain was "struggling” to lessen the East-West tension. Mr. Barret said this individual had V visited the United States and other democratic countries, and liked what he saw. Mr Barrett would not identify the person further. Mr. Barrett had asked whether he knew of anybody among the rulers of the Soviet Union or Soviet controlled countries who was working for peace.
