When all four departed this life by drowning in a boating accident on Lake Roto-Aira, near Tokaanu, 22nd day of December, 1949. We recall that fateful day, Twelve months have passed away, By the waters of Roto-Aira, You bid the world good-bye. The year rolls on and days go by, Our hears still ache with pain. Buddy, Gabriel, Manu and Steve, We grieve for you today. So tragic came that sad, sad end, Home was never the same, We are sad and lonesome, Since you were called away.
