TAXATION ESCAPE?
"It would be a great advantage to ourselves and to the institutions,” Mr R. S. Lilburn told the Wanganui Provincial Executive of Federated Farmers yesterday when moving the adoption of a remit from the Mangamahu branch that the Government should be urged to make a provision that donations to certain institutions should be tax free. The remit was carried. Mr R. O. Montgomerie: The Government would view it in the light that farmers want this concession as an avenue for taxation escape.
