FITZWATER BEATS BOXER FROM FIJI ON POINTS DECISION
HASTINGS, Last Night ,PA).—ln a good exhibition of clean hard-hitting' or orthodox boxing, Noel Fitzwater 10.8 (Patea) beat Francis Joseph 10.11 (Fiji) on points in a 10-round welterweight boxing contest in Hastings tonight.
In the early stages, Joseph forced the pace, but there was little between the pair. Fitzwater in the eighth round inflicted heavy punishment with rights and lefts to the head and body, but Joseph weathered the round. For the remainder of the bout, Fitzwater was definitely on top. The decision, a unanimous one by the three judges, met with a mixed reception from the crowd.
