Cowherd’s Mystery Cures
CUTTACK (Orissa).—A 12-year-old cowherd in a village near here who claims to cure diseases ranging from leprosy to deafness, is posing a serious transport problem for the Orissa State authorities. Two special trams and a bus service daily carry hundreds of peasants to the village, where, sitting in his hut, the cowherd doles out his “cure-all remedy” made from the bark of a mystery tree.—Reuter.
