FERRIER MAY COMPETE IN McWILLIAM’S GOLF TOURNAMENT
The organisers of McWilliam’s Wines £2500 golf tournament are hopeful Jim Ferrier may compete in their event, which will be staged at the Australian Golt Club course on March 8, 9 and 10. Jim Ferrier intends to revisit Australia in January, providing arrangements can be made which will not seriously interfere with his tournament schedule and business commitments in the U.S.A. If he is able to make the trip, Ferrier will play exhibition matches against leading professionals, then return to America after competing in the McWilliam s Wines tournament. This tournament is already assured ot international representation as British match play champion, Dai Kees, has accepted the invitation of the sponsors to again compete, and also five New Zealand professionals, including longhitting Alt Guy, will compete in the big event. , . Another top British professional, Max Faulkner, Filipinos "Tino Tugot and Larry Montes have also been invited to play, and the organisers are hopeful that Sydney golf enthusiasts will have the opportunity of seeing these famous golfers competing m the tournament.
