MEDICAL MAN STRUCK OFF ROLLS LOSES APPEAL

Seeks Leave To Go I To Privy Council I WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA) •The Court of Appeal today delivered judgment dismissing the appeal ibrought by Francis Clough Blundell, lof Te Awamutu, registered medical I practitioner.* against, an order made |by Mr Justice Callan, at Hamilton last June, removing his name from the register of medical practitioners. Counsel for appellant, after the delivery of the judgment, asked for leave to appeal to the Privy Council.

The Court decided to hold over argument on the right to appeal to the Privy Council until February 1, and ordered that in the meantime there should be a stay of the order removing appellants name from the register.

Each of the five members of the Court of Appeal delivered a separate judgment. All the judges were agreed that the facts compe’led the Court to take the same view' as Mr Justice Callan; namely, that. Blundell had conducted an illegal operation and that the subsequent, autopsy was Undertaken to conceal possible evidence of the operation.
