Railway Dispute Discussions Now With Manager

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). - Discussions o*n the railway wage dispute have moved from Cabinet Ministers to the general manager of railways, Mr. F. W. Aickin. Talks between representatives ot the general division, service organisations and Mr. Aickin will be resumed tomorrow morning. Officials of the railway men’s organisations conferred today with the Minister of Railways (Mr. Goosman,, the Minister of Labour Mr. Sullivan) and the Minister in Charge of the State Advances Corporation (Mr. Marshall). The union representatives then began talks with Mr. Aickin.

The Wellington branch of the Railway Tradesmen's Association, at a meeting of the branch today, adopted a resolution endorsing and supporting the action so far taken by Ihe combined committee at Auckland. The meeting also expressed complete confidence i*n the national executive of the association and decided that in the event of an unsatisfactory reply being received by the combined executive from the general manager the national executive be instructed to conduct a secret ballot.

The meeting is stated to have been the largest ever held by the Wellington branch of the R.T.A.
