LONDON, Dec. 2 (Rec 6 pm). “There is no reason to be pessimistic or panicky,” the Defence Minister <Mr. Shinwell) said in Durham tonight. He added that no member of the Government was fa a panic mood. Commenting on the international situation and Mr. Attlee’s flight to Washington, he declared there was r/ reason to believe a supreme commander for the West would be appointed before long. There would be complete integration of the Brussels Defence Organisation and the North Atlantic Defence Organisation, ineluding the solution of the problem of German participation in the defence of the West.
