AERO CLUB’S AUSTER AUTOCRAT IS DUE IN N.Z. THIS WEEK

The Wanganui Aero Club’s Auster Autocrat is due to arrive in Wellington early this week. The aircraft will be brought to Wanganui by road transport, and will be assembled at the Wangr/ui Airport. It is hoped to have the machine flying in about three weeks’ time.

To finance the cost of the Auster, the dub sold its canopy Tiger Moth to a Masterton aviation company, and the balance as met by donations and from the general funds. The Auster, which has done less than 300 hours' flying, is a de luxe model and its extras include a metal airscrew, a self starter, extra instruments and sun blinds. The Tiger Moth which was sold was taken delivery of by the Masterton company on Friday.

. The club’s fleet will now consist of the Percival Proctor, two open Tiger Moths and an Auster. It is expected that the Auster will considerably increase the club’s flying activity.
