FORDELL FLOWER SHOW SUCCESS DESPITE WEATHER

Despite tne inclemency of the weather last Saturday the Fordell Flower Show attracted good entries and competition was keen in all classes. The judges, who were set a difficult task, were Mrs Harris, of Turakina (cut flowers and decorative sections), and Mr C. Richdale, ol Aramoho (other sections).

Mrs W. G. Lewis’s challenge rose bowl for most points in the amateur section was won by Mrs A. McLeod, of Waikupa Road, Okoia, with a total of 52 points. The champion rose was exhibited by Mrs W. G. Lewis, of No. 2 Line, the rose being a "Mrs S. Mc|Gready.” I In the novice section Mr C. Richdale’s donation of bush roses for the most points was won by Mrs J. Pennefather with 28 points. Mrs R. Doig and Miss R. Flyger were run-ners-up with 85 points each. Miss R. Flyger s points prize in the cut flowers section was won by Mrs J. Pennefather. Mrs McLeod’s donation ot bush roses in the decorative section was awarded to Miss N. Christie (Fordell) and the Cameron challenge cup for most points in the show to Mrs A. McLeod (Okoia).
