ENGLAND DRAWS WITH NORTHERN N.S.W. IN CRICKET AT LISMORE
LISMORE, Nov. 21 (Recd. 11pm).— The match between England and Northern New South Wales ended in a draw at Lismore today. It was altogether an unsatisfactory day for the visitors, who had to bowl on a lifeless pitch and who also dropped two catches in the slips. Five English bowlers toiled for more than an hour in the morning before dismissing Lionel Fowler, who defied Bailey, Warr, Bedser and Brown, in turn, for a total of 81 minutes before falling to the slow bowler Berry.
Three wickets fell in three balls after lunch, but the bowler, Brown, was unable to claim at hat-trick, because Doohan was run out. The New South Wales Country team's first innings ended in the first over after tea. Scores:—
