More Than 8000 People Driven From Their Homes By Flooding
NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (Reed. 9 pm). —Flood waters from over 20 rivers in California’s Central Valley drove more than 8000 people from their homes yesterday. Floods engulfed farms, washed away bridges, covered roads and isolated several towns. The Red Cross and the Coast Guard used boats, planes and helicopters to rescue families trapped by the surging waters.
