St. Augustine’s won on the first innings. Women’s Cricket Begins The women’s cricket season opened in Wa'nganui with one game on Williams Park on Saturday. In it, Excelsior scored an outright win over United, making 92 runs in their first innings and 34 for one wicket declared in the second to United’s first innings of 30 ru'ns and second innings of 21. Principal scorers for Excelsior were P. Palmer (32) and J. Francis (36). Churches scored 12 runs to have the best individual score in the United team.
Southern Cross won by default in the other game scheduled to have been played on Saturday.
