RECORD GATE TAKINGS

Gate takings for the Wanganui Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s 1950 Spring Show totalled £1174 8s 6d over the two dayf>—a new record for the association. One of tlie factors responsible was possibly the perfect summer weather which prevailed both dajs, The increasing popularity of the show may also be taken into account. Last year, gate takings for the two days totalled £937, which was better than the figure for the two previous years. Gate takings on Saturday this year—when a record crowd attended for People’s Day —exceeded the £lOOO mark, which was the association’s objective, the actual figure being £1039.
