CRICKET NOMINATIONS FOR PLUNKET SHIELD TRIAL MATCH
To enable the selectors to study form, a further cricket trial match is to be played before the Middle Districts Plunket Shield team is finally chosen. This match is set down to be played in Wanganui on Sunday week, November 19. It will be between a combined team representing Wanganui, Taranaki and Rangitikei, against a side representative of Manawatu, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa. So far, only the Wanganui and Rangi* tikei nominations of players for the local side have been received. It will not be chosen until Taranaki nominations come to hand. Nominations received so far are: Wanganui: H. B. Cave (Wanganui), D. Beard (Marist), B. Poananga (United), N. Walker (Technical Old Boys), B. Jones (Technical Old Boys), J. Bergerson (Technical Old Boys), R. E. Brown (Technical Old Boys). North Rangitikei: D. McCarthy and N. Ashenden. South Rangitikei: S. Finney and A. Marshall.
