WELLINGTON, Yesterday.— The three-year-old Bonnie Charlie, who is engaged in the sprint, the Huia Handicap, at Otaki on Saturday, indicated that he has recovered from the injury which prevented his racing at the Wellington meeting by working soundly over six furlogs at Trentham this morning. Super Duke (Anderson) worked easily to the five furlongs, where he was brought home by Goldsmith (Thompson) in -50 4-ssec. On the two-year-old track Reporter (Page) and Novara (Bryce) sprinted half a mile in 50sec. the last three furlongs in 36 4-ssec. Both youngsters were under a good hold at the finish and they should make their presence felt in the Kuao Stakes at Otaki. On the plough, Vonfaye (Ford) took 55 2-ssec for half a mile.
