Bowling Club Matches WAVERLEY, Last Night (OC).~ The Waverley Bowling Club recently had as its visitors, members of the Wanganui East Club, when an all-day tournament was played at Waverley. The result of the day's play was six games to Wanganui East and eight games to Waverley. The following are the results of the morning games, with Waverley players mentioned first:—Strachan, E. Waverley was favoured with a visit of Guide Rangi and her concert party ’n the Town Hall on Tuesday evening. The audience showed its appreciation of the high standard dancing and singing by the number of recalls. The concert began with the ceremonial meeting and greeting of the two tribes on the open marae and the well known war cry, “Ka Mate Ka Mate.” The poi dancing was particularly good and performed with fine precision and most effective were three lines of dancers in the treble combination poi and also the well-known canoe poi. The hakas performed by both men and women were enthusiastically received and encores were called for. i Solos were given by Hep. Waretine, ' Wiremu Keepa and Ani Patitl.. Peace and After League.

The guest speaker at the Peace and After League meeting held on Tuesday evening was Mr Tyndall-Biscoe headmaster of the St. George’s Preparatory School. Wanganui, who gave rn address on India. Mr Tyndall-Bis-coe, who has lived in Indna, spoke of the problems of India and of the impossibility of joining Pakistan with India. The outcast popularion presented a big problem, which up till now has not been solved. Mr Tyndall-Bis-coe also spoke on the private lives aS well as the international problems of the peoples of India. Croquet Club.

Th 6 Waverley Croquet Club opening day was held on Tuesday afternoon, when 18 members were present. The afternoon was spent in competition croquet, of which the winners were: Golf croquet. Mrs C. Christensen and Mrs R. D. Wybourne. Other competitions. Mrs Pa’mer and Mrs W. Heginbotham

Mrs H. P. Mitcalfe. president of the Croquet Club, welcomed all the new members and hoped the club would have a very successful season.
