C.0.R.5.0. Appeal WAVERLEY, Last Night, (OC.L— When a clothes drive and street appeal was made under the auspices of .the W.D.F.F. last Friday for Corns a large quantity of used clothing, including coats, costumes, frocks and footwear in clean and perfect order, was received at the Town Hall. This clothing is urgently needed in European countries, Pakistan and India and through Corso .New Zealand is undertaking to help relieve the distress of these countries by assisting in clothing the refugee population as another hard winter approaches. It is only from community efforts that relief goods may be sent and these are very much appreciated. The stalls were very well patronised and did brisk business. After all expenses were paid the takings totalled over £3O. Those in charge of the stalls were: Produce stall, Mrs S. Ross and helpers; sweet and cake stall, Mesdames P Graves and M K Brewer; receiving clothing, Mesdames A. J. Larsen, W. Alexander, J. Johnston, Morrison and helpers; competitions, Mrs. Scott; afternoon tea, Mrs. J. H. Strauchan, Mrs. Dickie and helpers.
