WINTER SEASON CLOSES AT BELMONT; COMPETITION WINNERS
The Wanganui Golf Club held a successful closing day on Saturday when a large number of competitors played in a mixed Canadian foursome bogey. The winners were Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Carver, with a card of 6 up. At the conclusion of the day’s play trophies won during the season were presented by the president’s wife, Mrs. H. G. Carver. Winners for the season were: Senior championship, B. M. Silk; middleweight, K, S. Handley; junior, P. A. London; foursomes championship, J. Farley and A. R. Kitto; foursomes handicap, D. L. Burton and R. Carew; Imlay Cup, J. P. Carde; consolation handicap, E. Cordingley; Powdrell Cup, B. M. Silk; senior eclectic, J. Farley; middleweight, K. S. Handley; junior, H. L. Jones; Kellick Trophy, J. Farley; captain’s prize, K, H. Gibbons; Balgownie Cup, F. C. Hutchison; fourball bogey, C. C. Brownie and R. Manson; One Tree Hill Cup, F. C. Hutcnison; Doig Bowl, J. p. Carde; Hutchison Jug, Mr. and Mrs. K. S. Handley; Kellick foursomes, S. Sievers and Mrs. H. K. Handley, Next Saturday will see the start of the Summer points competition.
