RAILWAYMEN SHARE BIG TATT’S PRIZE
MELBOURNE, Nov. 8 (Recd. 6.30 pm).—Eight railwaymen at present 'on strike in Melbourne will share the £50,000 first prize in Tattersall's sweep. The owners of Silver Buzz stated that they were offered £5OOO to scratch the horse from the Melbourne Cup. The offer was made over the telephone. Silver Buzz had been bracketed with Grey Boots for £500,000. They did not report the offer to the V.R.C. because they did not know the source of the offers.
