TRAIN OVERTAKES JIGGER IN RAILWAY TUNNEL; MEN ESCAPE

TAIHAPE, Last Night (OC).—Two men travelling on a railway jigger had a narrow escape from serious injury when the jigger was overtaken by a mixed train in a tunnel a few miles south of Utiku today at 4.30 p.m. The men jumped clear and escaped with minor injuries. The jigger vfas wrecked. The train was travelling from Marton to Taihape at the time of the accident.
