New British Turbo-Jet Engine.—Britain’s latest turbo-jet engine, the Armstrong Siddeley “Sapphire.” which was recently removed from the secret list, is the most powerful aero-engine in the world today. This new engine was originally designed by MetropolitanVickers. but its development and construction has been taken over by Armstrong Siddeley Motors, of Coventry.
