FACTORS THAT COULD INFLUENCE U.S. ELECTION
Events In Korea Important NEW YORK, Nov. 5 (Recd. 6pm)— Three eleventh hour factors on the Congressional election campaign could have “a momentous bearing on the political future of the United States and the world,” the New York “Times” reported from Washington today. They are: (1) The attempt on President Truman’s life by two Puertorican revolutionists. (2) The sudden reverses of United States and United Nations forces in Korea. (3) Mr Truman’s single major campaign speech. The chief political correspondent of the “Times ’ said the full impact of these events on the voting on Tuesday would never be known, but they are being weighed by analysts and politicians. Mr Truman’s audience in St. Louis last night was acutely aware of the peril he escaped and his philosophic calm and courage in the assassination attempt.
