RANGITIKEI TO PLAY MANAWATU IN HAWKE CUP ELIMINATION MATCH
Rangitikei has been drawn to play Manawatu in n Hawke Cup elimination match. However, as the winner of this match has not been allocated a challenge for the trophy until some time in the New Year, it is fairly certain that the elimination game will not eventuate until the New Year date at the earliest. The teams have been matched for the elimination series and Rangitikei is number eight for a direct challenge provided it wins its elimination match against Manawatu. The challenges lodged, set out In order of preference for a challenge match are: Marlborough, Bay ot Plenty, Wairarapa, Southern Hawke’s Bay, Wanganui, Manawatu, Waikato, Rangitikei, Nelson and Hutt Valley.
