FRENCH MAKE A FURTHER WITHDRAWAL IN INDO CHINA
SAIGON, Nov. 6 (Recd. 12.55 am) A French military spokesman announced today that all French army posts west of the Black River had been evacuated without incident to a line on the river.
The centre of the evacuated posts Hunghoa, is 40 miles north-west of Hanoi.
The French defence line now runs from Vietri, on the western front, along the Black River to the village of Havi, 12 miles south of the confluence of the Black River with the Red River, the country's main watercourse. The Black River runs roughly southeasterly from the Chinese border through Tonking.
