Rutland Changes Hands.
The Rutland, Wanganui’s oldest—but most recently reconstructed — hotel, is to change hands at. the end of this month. The licensee the last two years, Mr. Tom Hurley, has sold the freehold back to its former owner, Mr. H. A. Edmonds. Mr. Hurley is leaving hotel business to go to a racingstud farm in the Waikato. This will be his second “retirement” from the trade for he ran a farm at Cambridge for two years prior to his latest arrival in Wanganui. When hero previously, ho hold the licence of the Imperial Hotel for six years from 1928.
