Let Marton Grow

It is indeed pleasing to see at last that the citizens of Marton are taking an interest in Borough affairs .is is shown by the letters appearing in your paper. I am a candidate for a seat on the Marton Borough Council and consider the suggestion of M. A. Stuart of holding a public meeting to hear the views of the different candidates a very sound one—it is done in other towns—why not Marlon: —We in Marton have the makings of a very fine town—backed by thousands of acres of the finest farming lands in New Zealand that produces an income second to none—plus one of the main Railway junctions.—Yet Marton has not altered a great deal since the days of the pioneer—lets slacken the reins and allow our town to become the town it is destined to bo —in spite of those who want Marton to remain just Marton.- I am. W.W. BOTT.
