T. and G. Mutual Life Society, Record New Business
The directors of the T. and G. Mutual Life Society report that the new business completed in Australia and New Zealand during the financial year ending September 30, 1950, was a record in the history of the society. In the ordinary department 45,137 policies assuring £23,193,163, and in the industrial department 74,730 policies, assuring £8,318,773, were written, the total life business issued being 119,867 policies, assuring £31,511,936. In the accident department 14,272 personal accident and sickness policies, assuring £4,837,792 were issued and 28,178 ordinary and industrial assurances were endorsed, with accident benefits for £8,030,172. A substantial percentage of the increase in the new business secured in the ordinary department was obtained from group assurance and staff superannuation schemes, an increasing number of firms and companies having entrusted their superannuation schemes to the society during the past year.
