WAVERLEY PRICES: 4/6 Plus Tax. Box Plans J. C. Gray & Son. The Critics are Unanimous !!! SOUTHLAND DAILY NEWS: Their sense of fun was infectious and an intimate friendly atmosphere prevailed in the house throughout the evening with the leadership and personality of world famous Guide Rangi the Arawa Concert Party should lack nothing in popularity. MAT AURA ENSIGN: A really good show. I doubt if f have ever seen anything really better. It provided something rare in entertainment so far as Gore is concerned, and its performance was worth more than the sum charged for admission. OAMARU MAIL: The Arawa Concert Party presents entertainment of a type seldom heard in the South Island and it is unfortunate that the Oamaru visit was confined to one night. OTAGO DAILY TIMES: The members of the party entered into the different activities with a carefree geniality, and Guide iiangi proved a droll humorist in her role of compere. CHRISTCHURCH PRESS: The songs were another attractive part of the programme. They were unaccompanied in the main but the men’s voices provided an excellent background for the brittle, yet sweet, quality of the women’s voices. W AIM ATE ADVERTISER: The concert was something quite out of the ordinary and with repeated applause the audience left no doubt as to its appreciation of the numbers Waimate will look to Guide Rangi to bring us more of this sort of programme as often as she can. TIMARU HERALD: The solos and duets gave individual performers the opportunity to demonstrate the beauty of natural Maori voices and helped to make the evenings’ entertainment a distinctive one for a city audience. EVENING POST (Wellington): Tuhourangi are professional entertainers. Therefore a standard is expected from them. That they were at home on the stage was obvious from the outset, and there was no doubting their popularity.
