Eradication Of Gorse.
The Wanganui County Council’s proposal to eradicate goise on county farm frontages by asking farmers to burn off advanced growth, after which the council would provide a truck and spraying equipment to kill young growth was commended by the Fordeil and Makirikiri branches of Federated Farmers, according to information received at the council meeting yesterday. The Okoia branch preferred the council to enforce the Noxious Weeds Act, but the opinion was expressed at the council meeting that this branch had not clearly understood the proposal.
