WANGANUI-MANAWATU CRICKET TEAM TO PLAY TARANAKI
Messrs. E. C. Gee (Wanganui) and J. A. Ongley (Manawatu) have chosen the following combined WanganulManawatu cricket team for a trial match to be played at Hawera against Taranaki to assist the selectors to choose the lifth Plunket Shield district team: J. Little, H. B. Cave, B. Poananga, D. Beard, N. Walker, J. Eergerson and R. Brown (all of Wanganui) ; J. Ongley, C. McVicar, W. Pollitt, J. Bowden, I. Coiquhoun (all of Manawatu). The time of departure of the Wanganui members of the side will be announced later. The Colts match between Taranaki and Wanganui which was to have been played at Hawera has been postponed because Taranaki is unable to field a team. Taranaki Team NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night (OC). —The following players have been chosen to represent Taranaki in a trial match to be played at Hawera to assist the selectors to choose the fifth Plunket Shield district team: J. Spedding (captain), Q'. Hall, W. Gill, R. Simpson, R. James, K. Kenyon, K. Leggett, C. Hurcombe, A. Alexander, I. Bennie, S. Mcßride; twelfth man, M. Cockerill or L. Miller.
