Guiders’ Traininn Camp At “Tihoranga”

A training camp for Guiders from the Wellington province was held last week-end at the Girl Guide Hut “Tirohanga,” Castlecliff, which is now partly rebuilt. Guiders and Rangers came from Palmerston North , Feilding, Levin, Pahiatua, Wanganui, Waitotara and Wellington. They spent the time in demonstrations, talks and campcraft sessions and were given as much training as possible before the test. Seven completed and live Rangers are to qualify for their Campcraft Ear. On Sunday night a Guide’s Own was held round the camp fire. The camp advisers were Miss I. Reid (Manawatu), Mrs D. Brown (Hutt Division) and Mrs A. Andrews (Wanganui Division). The quartermaster was Miss I. Cook. “Tirohanga” hopes to have an opening day in the near future when the building is fully completed.

P. and T. Women's League At the October meeting of the P. and T. Women’s League a travel talk was given by Airs. J. P. Johnstone, who recently returned from a trip to England and the Continent. The annual "bring and buy” stall was well patronised and netted a good sum of money. A prize for the best article made for the stall was won by Mrs. Mulcahy. An amusing "Yes-No” quiz was conducted by Airs. Putt.
