me r.;ao census 01 scouts snows an increase of 721 when compared with the previous year, the n ost spectacular gain being in the Cub section. The total number of Scouts in Now Zealand, according to the annual report of the Boy Scouts Association of Now Zealand, was 21,669 on July 5 compared with 20,948 in the previous year and 19.136 in 1948. The numbers in the various sections are as follows with last year's figures in parenthsos: Woll Cubs. 10.097 (9361); Scouts. 7861 • 7657); senior Sea Scouts. 132 (108); senior Scouts. 431 (;24); Sea Stouis. 659 (611); Air Scouts, 27 (27»; Rover Scouts, 483 (5.'6); Scouters, 1811 (1837): commissioners 168 (157).
