BRITISH PEER’S TRIBUTE TO MARSHAL TITO
BELGRADE, Sept. 10 (Reed. 7 pm) —Lord Boyd Orr, who has been visiting Yugoslavia as a guest of the Yugoslav Government, said last night that he found Tito the most human great man he had ever met. “He carries an immense burden on his shoulders but I think he is equal to it.” Lord Boyd Orr said he was confident Yugo'slavia would survive the difficulties caused by the Cominform blockade because of the spirit of its leaders, whom he found courageous and honest. He and his wife have been spending a week in Yugoslavia to investigate Soviet allegations that Yugoslavia is preparing for war against its neighbours. Lord Boyd Orr went as chairman of the British National Peace Committee. “Yugoslavia is moving toward the west as fast as the west will let her. I believe the country is a good business risk. Yugoslavia will not be bullied by Russia nor allow herself to be bought by America.” Asked if Tito thought the Russians would attack Yugoslavia, Lord Boyd Orr said the Marshal hoped and expected not—Reuter.
