Wethers Sell For £5 18s 10d At Feilding Sale.

PALMERSTON N., Last Night (PA). -It would appear from activities in the fat sheep section of the Feilding livestock sale that values for prime wether mutton have not yet exhausted buyers’ limits, for top 1 sheep were traded at close to £6 a , i head on an animated market. 900 head of station cattle representing many lines drafted from Gisborne. The inquiry was particularly strong, and practically the whole offering was disposed of under the hammer at prices satisfactory to vendors. The factor in the stronger tone was 1 lie announcement of the freeing of hides from controls, a decision wnich automatically lifted the value of cattle. The tone of the market was well demonstrated in the sale of only a pen of bullocks (number 18 mixed colours and mixed in size) at £24 Bs. Yearling steers sold to £l3 18s, and a line of 105 2-year Hereford steers was traded at £l5 Ils. Hoggets of mixed quality comprised the bulk of the short offering o£ store s*\eep, the total yarded numbering just over 1100. Vendors bad no diffic'Sty in accepting bidding which was brisk, although prices, in view of the market, trends, were inclined to favour buyers. E\ve hoggets sold io 79s Bd, wether sorts made to 71s 6d, and small lines of wethers sold to 75s 9d.
