London Printers’ Strike
LONDON. Sept. 6.—A1l efforts to arrange a temporary settlement of the London printing dispute have broken down and it is probable that weekly journals in the London area will again encounter considerable difficulties in publishing this week. Employers offered to wt-hdraw the dlimissals of members of the London Society of Compositors even without the withdrawal of the ban on overtime. providing the men would agues to drop restrictive working practices. An official of the Compositors’ Society rejected th ? s offer on the grounds that the employers were locking the men out.
