Winners Of Drama League Play-Writing

CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night (PA). —The winners of the play-writing competition held by the Now Zealand branch of the British Drama League have been announced. In the open class the winner was Ramon Ortega, of Geraldine, whose play was "Sun and Shade.’’ "Cupboard Love’’ by Elizabeth Malloch, Green Island, and "The Reaper" by the late Mrs V. Targase, were commended. In the class for a play with a New Zealand subject and setting, the winner was Kathleen Ross, of Wellington. Her play was "The Trap." Beryl Tinkler, of Tirau, with "Mountain Rimu’’ and Muriel Dalit on, of Upper Hutt, with "Who Is Sylvia?’ were commended.
