SOME FINAL GALLOPS OF WANGANUI HORSES

The majority of the horses engaged at Wanganui today had done their fast work on Thursday morning, but there were a few gallops yesterday, when the track was soft after heavy rain, though recovering quickly. Home Brew, who was given pacework, appears well forward for her Maiden Race engagement. Another Hastings visitor was Parisian Lad. Green Rushes worked round to the three furlongs and then ran home in 37 1-5. The CoronaCh filly appeared as if she could have improved on that time. Hostess and Regency Buck finished together at the end of four furlongs, which took them 52 15. Broiemere slipped over three furlongs in 39. Beau Chief, with a heavyweight up, and Good Record registered 37 3-5 for three furlongs. Davey Jones (Couchman) jumped off at the five furlongs instead of the three. With the boy trying to restrain him he still raj to the two furlongs in 37 1-5 and he was then eased up. He appears in good form for his Flying Handicap engagement. Lay-By (Chote), who appears as brilliant as ever over four or five furlongs, slipped over three in 36 1-5.
