ST. JOHN AMBULANCE OFFICERS GAIN HIGH AWARDS

Long qnd faithful service by two proniiueqt officers ol the St. John Aqibulaqce Brigade in Waqganqi has been rewarded by high hpqours. According to advice received from the secretqcy.geqeral, St. Jqhffs Gate, London. Assistant-Commissiqner E. Hamling, cflicer-iq-charge ' qi the Wanganui Brigade distrjpt, and Miss Mona Freeman, woman’s corps superintendent, haye been admitted to the order as serving brother and serving sister ot St. John, respectively. The advice reads in each case: “i have the honour to inform you that His Majesty the King, the Sovereign Head of the Graqd Priory in the British Realm of the Venerable Orde. of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem, has been graciously pleased to sanction yoqr admission as a serving brother (serving sister) of St. John as from May 25, 1950, the date of His Majesty's Sign Manual.” The awards will be presented at a cathedral investiture to be conducted by the Governor-General, Sir Bernarad Freyberg.
