Arbitration Court Cannot Alter
Farm Workers’ Wages WELLINGTON, Yesterday (PA)— “In case there is any misunderstanding as to the true position, I wish to make it clear that the Court of Arbitration has no jurisdiction to increase the wages of dairy farm workers, and in fact has not done so. Further, the Court has no jurisdiction by general order to increase the minimum rates of wages of any class of workers back as far as May 1, 1950.” This statement was issued by Mr. Justice Tyndall at the conclusion of this morning’s sitting of the Arbitration Court. _____
