Dairy Boards Want To Administer The Zoning Regulations

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA)— The New Zealand Dairy Board conference will recommend to the Minister of Agriculture that the administration of the Zoning Regulations remain with the board. This step is -tn be taken because of the desire of the dairy industry to be responsible for the control and administration of its own affairs. A resolution to this effect was passed at the conference today. Moving this, Mr. W. N. Perry (South Auckland) said that practically every dairy farmer was disturbed at the division of opinion in the Dairy Board regarding this issue. “We want, as an industry, io have more control and administration of our own affairs. It is a pity that the Board is so divided in this issue. If there is a division the board cannot serve the people it represents to the ' oest of its ability. | Seconding the motion, Mr. A. G. Alexander (South Auckland) said, that an outside body of individuals " ho had not grown up with the industry would not be able to take everything into account. Mr. A. Linton, chairman of the hoard, spoke in favour of the resolution. Speakers against the resolution considered that a judicial committee | should he set up 10 control zoning. I'('he Dairy Board was not an authority on law, it was slated, and it was 'necessary that a body of this type should be controlled.
