OBITUARY
Mrs. Phoebe Ann Row The death occurred at Wanganui on Saturday of Mrs. Phoebe Ann Row, who waS a descendant of very early settlers. She was born in tfie Wainul-o-mata, on March 23, 18S8. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whiley. Her father came from Lowestoft, Suffolk, and arrived in New Zealand in 1858. Her mother, Ann Collis, was born in Wellington in 1842, her parents having arrived in New Zealand in that year. Mrs. Row spent most of her girlhood in the Manawatu and married Mr. Thomas James Row in 1839. They settled on the land at Tokomaru, later shifting to Hastings. Finally they retired to Wanganui, where thev have been living for the past 30 years. She is survived by her husband, two sons (Mr. Harold Row, a builder, o f Napier, and Mr. Leslie F. Row, city engineer, Wanganui) and two daughters (Mrs. H. Butler, of Wellington, and Miss Olive E. Row, of Wanganui).
