Wang. Rugby Rep Team For Short Tour

Twelve Wanganui City players, six Rangitikei and one Waverley player are included in the 19 players who will comprise the Wanganui Rugby representative team for its East Coast tour, which will start next week. The team, which was announced yesterday by the selectors —Messrs. S. Ambrose (Wanganui), J. Hartley (Rangitikei) and W. Pine (Taihape) —is as follows: ' Full-back: G. Pull (Rangitikei). Tta-ce-quarters. T. Goldsmith (Rangitikei). R. Lockett (Wanganui and Old Boys). A. Webby (Technical Old Boys). P. Henderson (Kaierau). Five-eighths. M. Hunter (Wanganui and Old Boys). M. O’Connell (Marist. P. Jones (Wanganui and Old Boys), Half-back. T. Takarangi (Kaierau). Forwards. D. Beard (Pirates). S. Granville (Tech. Old Boys). M. Griftin (Wanganui and Old Boys). R. Dallison (Waverley,. V. Bell (Pirates). G. Gibbs (Rangitikei). D. McGregor (Wanganui and Old Boys). D. Morrison (Rangitikei). T. Oldfield (Rangitikei). H. Rowley (Rangitikei). The team will leave at 6 a.m. on Friday next, September 1, for Gisborne, where they will play Poverty Bay on Saturday. September 2. The team will leave Gisborne on Monday morning, September 4, for Napier and they will play Hawke’s Bay on Wednesday, September fi. The team will leave on its return to Wanganui on Thursday. The team will be accompanied by Mr. A. Lockett (manager) and Mr. .S Ambrose (coach). Practices will be held on Spriggens Park on Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 p.m.
