WANGANUI GOLF CLUB REGAINS SEAFIELD CUP FROM NEW PLYMOUTH

The Wanganui Golf Club regained the Seafield Cup when a team of 28 New Plymouth club players visited Belmont for their annual match at the week-end. The scores of the first eight players counted for the cup, which Wanganui lost to New Plymouth at Ngamotu last year. Wanganui won the cup this time by seven matches to one. In the interclub match played in conjunction, Wanganui won by 30 matches to nine, winning 21 singles to six, and nine fourb.alls to three. In the match between B. M. Silk and J. Jeffery, Jeffery won by 4 up and three to play. The New Plymouth man started off in an amazing manner, being four under bogey after six holes and five up on Silk. T. Casey defeated J. Middleton 3 and 1, after being dormie five on Middleton. The game ended at the 17th, where Casey laid Middleton a stymie with his second putt.
