Russia Boycotts United Nations Social Committee
NEW YORK, Aug. 18.—Russia today boycotted the social committee which examines information from non-self governing territories. It was the 31st United Nations body boycotted by Russia and the first since its return to the Security Council on August 1. The Committee which today had its first meeting of the year, was strongly supported by Russia last year. There is no immediate explanation of the boycott of the committee, which is not directly concerned in the Chinese representation issue, because it has no delegate from Nationalist China.
