Mens Indoor Basketball Championships
WELLINGTON. Last Night (PA). The North Island men’s indoor basketball championships provided some of the most brilliant play since the game was introduced in this country. Wellington won for the fifth year in succession, but Hamilton were unlucky when their brilliant former i Czechoslovakian International, C. Bernachek retired in the first quarter | against Wellington with a pulled leg muscle. He was an outstanding figure at the tournament. Section winners were Wellington, Hamilton and Palmerston North. In the play-off Wellington beat Hamil:on 53—32, and Palmerston North 61 i -50. Hamilton beat Palmerston 1 ?*orth 50—40.
