Catholic Basketball Tourney; Wellington And Wanganui Draw
A high standard of basketball was seen on the Sacred Heart Convent courts yesterday, when the annual Catholic diocesan inter-provincial basketball tournament for the Archbishop O'Shea Shield was held. The final between Wellington A and St. Mary’s (Wanganui) resulted in a draw, 9-all. Teams competed from New Plymouth, Levin, Wellington, Palmerston North, Hutt Valley, Sacred Heart Convent, St. John’s Hill, and St. Mary’s. At the end of the tournament the teams were the guests of St. Mary’s Club at afternoon tea.
